Kansas City Underground shines a little brighter with Skatterman on the rise

AFRICANEWSWIRE.NET (May, 20 2012) Independent artist Skatterman continues his hot streak, The video for his new single "Get Tha DJ Drunk" has been added to Comcast's worldwide play list. BiggShot Music and Talon Entertainment have been working diligently over the last several years to keep Skatter in the public eye. "We just continue to grind. Skatterman is a great artist to work with; he has a great business mind which makes it easy to translate the intricacies of the industry. It is great to finally see upward mobility. Skatterman is not your typical indie artist", Talon’s Eric Hawke, CEO or Talon was quoted as saying.

Skatterman, who has long been regarded as the “Undaground Boss” in Kansas City, was signed to independent label Strange Music. Strange Music’s flagship artsit, Tech N9ne signed Skatterman and Snug Brim as the first group on Strange Music. After lukewarm success and a radio single, "Block Party", Skatterman and Snug Brim decided on a new direction. The group disbanded in 2010, but Skatterman’s popularity has continued to rise.

Over the last couple of few years Skatterman has toured the country with Mims, Lil Flip, Krayzie Bone, Lil Wyte and more. He released both The Cook Book; Recipe One and Recipe Two, compiled his full length release "Self Made" and most recently received radio airplay on his new single, "Get Tha DJ Drunk", featuring ProHoeZak in 11 cities.

With over 600 shows in the last 7 years under his belt, Skatterman is a seasoned performer who has great stage presence and show. He is best known for his soul filled lyrics that eloquently express the trials, the pitfalls, the loves and the joys of his life. Skatterman writes about his real life experiences. His desire is for young people to learn from the mistakes that he has made; so that “they don’t have to do what he has had to.”

“’Get Tha DJ Drunk’, is designed to get the party up and moving. It’s got a beat to dance to and is just fun and I ain’t really no dance club type of dude but I couldn't pass up that track. Got to give it up to my bro, ProHoeZak, on that one, he put his foot in it!” The single is quickly becoming a club DJ favorite and the BiggShot/Talon team seems determined to get the country on board. Skatterman is also preparing to join Lil Flip in promoting Corporate Hip-Hop on a new single they are working on with United Vision Marketing Firm CEO, Dr. Nono Pearson. The single is a joint effort with UVMF and Talon Music Group and is due out later this summer.
