Retail Stocks Rose on Friday: Burger King Holdings, Inc., American Eagle Outfitters, The Gap Inc., Limited Brands, Inc.

(EMAILWIRE.COM, September 13, 2010 ) New York, NY-Burger King Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:BKC) added 0.65% to $23.77 on over 4.50 million shares. Earlier this month, the company said that it will be bought by private equity firm 3G Capital for $24 a share, or $4 billion, including the assumption of debt. The deal values the fast food company at a premium over its closing price of $18.86 a share on Wednesday. The deal comes after days of reports that the company would go private.

Over the past 52-weeks, the stock traded within the range of $16.31-$23.78. Today, the stock created its new 52-week high of $23.78.

American Eagle Outfitters (NYSE:AEO) soared 6.62% to $14.34 on over 8.04 million shares after the company said in a regulatory filing that its Chairman Jay Schottenstein this week bought 500,000 shares at $13.58 a share.
Over the past 52-weeks, the stock traded within the range of $11.35-$19.86. The volumes were high today at 8.04 million shares as compared to its daily average volume of 4.83 million shares.
