With Industry Failing to Fall In Line with More Affordable Finance Rates, Payday Loan Tree Adds Pressure

(EMAILWIRE.COM, April 12, 2011 ) Woodbury, NJ -- Payday Loan Tree, the company that makes a short-term immediate payday loans available to consumers who need emergency funds between paydays, has, for months, reached out to the financial community in an effort to get the industry to consider lowering interest and fees on loans for individuals with weakened credit. Having made no leeway in getting the financial community to cooperate in this manner, the company is now in the midst of taking extraordinary steps to add pressure to the industry at large. We have been a staunch advocate of lower interest rates and loan fees for the consumer base that needs the cash the most; those who have found themselves in less-than-perfect financial conditions, said a spokesman for the company. After making so many attempts at being the voice of the consumer, and trying unsuccessfully to get these companies to at least temporarily lower their rates, we decided to amp up the pressure.

We will be teaming up with various grassroots campaigns and community groups to form a large network of consumer advocates, who will stand up alongside of us and tell the community at large that there must be a fair way of lending funds to those who need it most during an economic crunch. We decided that if the financial community would not listen to us, perhaps they listen to hundreds and even thousands of dissatisfied consumers, who decided that they're not going to just take it anymore.
